Global Empowerment Mission has impressed me from the very beginning. They stand out among foundations because, although they are an immediate disaster relief agency, they understand the need goes much deeper than the first response. After hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, or wars, the real work continues long after the cameras leave. I deeply respect their philosophy of empowering local teams on the ground to manage ongoing relief.
GEM landed in Ukraine just two days after Russia’s invasion; I followed three weeks later. Since then, I return every few months — not only in my role as an Ambassador and Board Member, but also as a friend to our Ukrainian team. Through my social media platforms, I hope in some small way to keep awareness alive for this crisis. It’s not charity in theory; it’s impact in real time.
